Wayne Shorter - Etcetera (UHQ CD)
- Artist:
- WAYNE SHORTER
This quartet session from 1965 has long been considered one of Wayne Shorter’s finest studio albums, even though it remained unreleased until 1980. Etcetera is a set of sublime Shorter compositions with the exception of Gil Evans’ passionate “Barracudas (General Assembly).” From the emphatic title track to the stunning ballad “Penelope” to the mesmerizing “Indian Song,” Etcetera takes its place as one of the true highlights of the saxophonist’s discography featuring Herbie Hancock on piano, Cecil McBee on bass, and Joe Chambers on drums.
