This Historic Series Blue Note t-shirt features an illustration by artist and sculptor Martin Craig, most often used as the cover illustration for Blue Note catalogs dating back to the 1940s.

Martin Craig lived on the floor below one of Blue Note’s early offices on Seventh Avenue and became friends with Alfred Lion, who commissioned him to create the iconic Blue Note logo and LP labels as well as several early Blue Note album covers including Herbie Nichols The Prophetic Herbie Nichols.
